Medusa

Medusa

Medusa was filmed in March of 2021 after ProLab Dance had been meeting in public parks around Portland to continue creative explorations during the pandemic. Medusa was shot using an iPhone duct-taped to the end of a 9 foot long bamboo pole to simulate drone camera movement. The dancers used long bamboo poles and oversized skirts tied together to explore how to be connected to the weight of each other’s bodies while maintaining safe social distance.  This short film takes us into the pain of being betrayed by that which you hold most dear.

Medusa was awarded an Honorable Mention at the Mobile Dance Film Festival at the Harkneas Dance Center in New York, 2022.
